Arriving in Jackson

Arriving in Jackson yesterday afternoon we quickly found a spot in the Gross Ventre campground with the beautiful Teton range in the background. This morning we went scouting for a suitable primitive camp close to Jackson. Unfortunately the area I was targeting has a 2 day maximum stay limit imposed until Labor Day which put it out of the question. The same goes for most of the other areas close to town. Jackson has to be one of the most difficult towns in the West to find easily accessible primitive camping. Might move sooner than planned.

We stayed on the other side in Vicotr Idaho. Wonderful campground in “town”. Very low rates, especially if you’re a PA member. Great spot. Spent a week there last July. Might be worth checking out.

Only thing, you’ve got to go over Teton Pass! :)

Thanks Rich, we might head out of town that way and will check it out. They sure have some serious passes in this part of the world.
