Golden Eagle

img_9845On my hike this afternoon – to some boulders where I have a cell phone signal – I briefly saw a huge bird landing behind a bush. I slowly walked closer to see a HUGE Golden Eagle flapping madly to get airborne. He was busy eating his fresh prey – a rabbit. For crime scene photos check this out.

Did you grab the leftovers for dinner?? :)

I know you must be on a tight budget.

Too bad you couldn’t get a closeup picture of such a magnificent bird.

any thoughts comments for a youngish (just turning 40) couple who is thinking about bagging the cube life too? Our concerns: too many folks that do this are up in their years - would we be out of our element???

Hi Lara, while full timers tend to be a bit older I have found most of them quite interesting. It depends more on the type of camping you are planning to do.
