Hovering around the dry lake

img_6940I am back at Clark Lake camping at a fantastic site about a mile from my previous spot. Now my closest neighbor is at least ½ mile away and I am surrounded by a nice patch of trees providing some shade against the 90 degree plus temperatures of the last two days. I also made good use of the ass fan making several flights out to my elusive goal – Villager Peak – but being turned around every time by either lack of daylight or dodgy conditions. Yesterday in particular I had an interesting scouting mission flying only a couple of feet above the dry lake bed and exploring some features that is hard to see from the dirt. Imagine my surprise when I saw a white Trans Am tucked under the trees by Clark Well – the owner who is camping at the hide-out between the trees was less amused at being exposed like that. Tons of fun skimming across the lake and even dragging a boot across the smooth surface before landing right next to the RV just in time for cold beer and the full moon rising above the mountains. Check out the photos.
