Bahia de Los Angeles

img_0820Crossing the border into Tijuana at 2 am the 14 hour drive through Baja California would finally end on an isolated beach close to the small Mexican town of Bahia de Los Angeles on the shores of the Sea of Cortez. The plan was to kick back for a couple of days and so we did, sitting under our shade canopy watching pelicans dive for food, swimming in the warm glassy waters, feasting on great food, drinking and  hanging around the campfire at night. Nathan supplied us with seafood fresh from the bay and Thep prepared it in our camp kitchen. Managing our coolers was top priority constantly adjusting the beer to food ratio and occasionally doing an ice-run into town. While doing great on the soft sand with his 2wd truck, Sat provided some entertainment by getting stuck. Each morning and evening Jim, Denis and I would swim to a buoy in the bay, getting some exercise to make up for all the great food and drink. After 5 days Sat, Thep and Nathan had to leave while the rest of us took a leisurely 3 day trip back to California.
