Fishing in the Uinta Mountains

We started our hike into the Uinta Mountains late on Friday afternoon (due to a shopping spree at the REI sale). The weather looked pretty gloomy as we set up camp at Jordan Lake in the Naturalist Basin. It proceeded to rain, hail and snow all night long which were a pretty good test for my brand new 3 pound solo tent. Saturday was perfect fly fishing weather - more rain, snow and hail - and after a how-to-tie-the-fly briefing by Jason we caught and released about 50 odd trout between us. Sunday was warm, sunny and beautiful and after a short fishing session we hiked the 6 miles back to the truck. A great experience fishing in the high altitude lakes of the Utah mountains.
